Comprehensive Preventative Care
Restoration Dental Studio believes comprehensive preventative dental care is the foundation to your overall oral health, and that’s what you’ll receive at your recommended biannual dental check-ups.
What to expect during your exam
- Assessing the risk for tooth decay and possible need for restorative treatment
- Assessing the health of the gums and risk for gum disease or bone disease
- Oral cancer screenings
- Reviewing diagnostic procedures such as x-rays or scans
- Addressing concerning at-home habits
- Examining the need for prosthesis needs
By scheduling regular exams, this gives Dr. Svetanoff a chance to detect any issues when they are the most treatable. However, patients with high risk for other dental diseases may be recommended to schedule every three to four months to address the state of your oral health.
What to expect during your cleaning
- Hand-scaling and ultrasonic calculus removal
- Removal of plaque and stains
- Professional polishing
- Professional flossing and helpful techniques for those in orthodontic treatment

Each one of our patients will leave our office with enhanced knowledge and techniques for proper oral hygiene!
Every patient, no matter the age, can benefit from a fluoride treatment. Fluoride treatments protect your enamel, provide your teeth with minerals, and prevent cavities. Restoration Dental Studio uses a varnish that is applied to the teeth after the cleaning. The fluoride has the consistency of a sticky paste that comes in flavors such mint, caramel, bubble gum and more! Our varnish allows you to eat and drink right after your appointment, we just ask that you avoid warm liquids for a few hours.
Restoration Dental Studio also offers an at-home prescription strength fluoride toothpaste for both children and adults! FluorimaxⓇ 5000 and Just RightⓇ 5000 are just as safe and effective as the preventative treatments you would receive in the office, with flavors such as spearmint, vanilla mint, bubble mint and candy apple!
Dental sealants are a clear polymer, or plastic-like material, that is applied to the chewing surfaces of teeth that dramatically reduces the risk of decay in both primary and permanent teeth of children and young teens. The application of sealants is quick and pain free! This procedure lasts for years which is why it is recommended for young children due to its maximum protection against tooth decay. The sealant material is painted onto the tooth and does not interfere with flossing or brushing, your child won’t even notice a difference!

Oral Cancer Screenings
An Enhanced Oral Screening may be completed after your traditional examination by the dentist. This will be done using the VELscopeⓇ medical device. This advanced medical device uses blue spectrum light that can help identify abnormalities in the tissue that typically go unnoticed by the naked eye.

importance?
Regular oral exams and oral cancer screenings are extremely important because it includes a visual and palpation examination of the head, mouth, and neck while not only checking for common diseases but also oral cancer and precancerous tissue.
Oral and oropharyngeal cancer can form in areas including the mouth, lips, tongue, cheeks, gums, hard palate, tongue, and throat. Not all abnormalities or findings result in cancer, so there’s no need to panic! Early detection is key!
Silver Diamine Fluoride: SDF
An Enhanced Oral Screening may be completed after your traditional examination by the dentist. This will be done using the VELscopeⓇ medical device. This advanced medical device uses blue spectrum light that can help identify abnormalities in the tissue that typically go unnoticed by the naked eye.
what is it?
Silver Diamine Fluoride or commonly referred to as SDF, is an antibiotic liquid that is painted on to the teeth that have been diagnosed with small cavities. The application of this medicine is used to control cavities and prevent further progression of decay. It is a noninvasive, quick and painless procedure that is suitable for young children with excess decay or sensitivity, that will ultimately arrest any further decay until the patient can tolerate proper restorative treatment.
Recommendations
Not all cavities can be treated with SDF due to size and excess of decay, and even the use of this medicine does not eliminate the need for future restorative treatment. If the decay is not “arrested” or halted, repeated application may be necessary.
The application of SDF will ultimately react with the current decay causing the bacteria to turn into a dark black color, leaving the surrounding healthy enamel white. This allows the medicine to arrest the bacteria causing decay and prevent further progression, and can also reveal the amount of decay developing on the tooth which is barely noticeable on back teeth.
Who is this best for?
- Patients of any age may use SDF for smaller cavities
- Young children who may not be able to tolerate traditional restorative treatment until older
- Special need patients
DEXIS™ CariVu
Additionally, our office is equipped with the Dexis CariVu™, which is an easy and painless way to detect cracks and cavities early on with zero radiation. This technique is especially beneficial for pregnant women, kids, and other populations of patients who may not be able to have regular radiographs.
