Dental Cleanings
During your dental cleaning visit, we carefully remove plaque, tartar, and surface stains using specialized instruments designed for precision and comfort.
Your cleaning includes thorough flossing in hard-to-reach areas between the teeth and along the gumline, followed by professional polishing to leave your teeth smooth and refreshed.
We are also pleased to offer Guided Biofilm Therapy®, an advanced, minimally invasive technique that uses state-of-the-art technology to gently and effectively remove plaque and bacteria for a more comfortable, comprehensive cleaning.

Comprehensive Exams
Your dental exam is a simple, important part of keeping your smile healthy. Dr. Svetanoff will thoroughly check your teeth, gums, and overall oral health, making sure everything looks and feels the way it should. We’ll take any necessary diagnostic images, talk about your at-home care, and answer any questions you have.
Regular exams help us catch small concerns early and keep your smile looking and feeling its best. Most patients visit every six months, though we may recommend more frequent visits if extra care is needed.
Guided Biofilm Therapy®
Guided Biofilm Therapy® (GBT) is a modern form of dental cleaning that is designed for effective and minimally invasive removal of biofilm (AKA plaque) from the teeth and gums. GBT uses specialized techniques that combine low-abrasive technology with air polishing, and is great for those who struggle with sensitivity during dental visits. Here’s how it works: first, a special, harmless dye is applied to the teeth that shows where the biofilm/bacteria is hiding. Then, a gentle air and water stream mixed with powder is used to remove biofilm from the teeth and gums.
Sealants
A dental sealant is a clear polymer, or plastic-like, material that is applied to the chewing surfaces of teeth to reduce the risk of decay in both primary and permanent teeth of children and young teens. The application is quick and pain free! Dental sealants last for years, which is why they are recommended for young children due to their maximum protection against decay. The material is simply painted onto the tooth and does not interfere with flossing or brushing – your child won’t even notice a difference!
Silver Diamine Fluoride
Silver Diamine Fluoride, commonly referred to as SDF, is a liquid that is painted onto teeth that have been diagnosed with small cavities. The application of this medicine is used to control cavities and prevent further progression of decay. It is a quick, and painless procedure that is suitable for young children with excess decay or sensitivity, that will ultimately arrest any further decay until the patient can tolerate proper restorative treatment.
Not all cavities can be treated with SDF due to size and excess of decay, and even the use of this medicine does not eliminate the need for future restorative treatment. If the decay is not “arrested” or halted, repeated application may be necessary.
The application of SDF will ultimately react with the current decay, causing the bacteria to turn into a dark black color and leaving the surrounding healthy enamel white. This allows the medicine to arrest the bacteria-causing decay to prevent further progression, and can also reveal the amount of decay developing on the tooth (which is barely noticeable on the back teeth).
Who is SDF best for?
- Patients of any age may use SDF for smaller cavities.
- Young children who may not be able to tolerate traditional restorative treatment until they are older.
- Special needs patients.
