Oral-Conscious Sedation:
Oral-conscious sedation involves taking a prescription pill an hour before your appointment to help you feel calm and relaxed during treatment. You’ll remain awake and conscious throughout. Detailed instructions and options will be provided beforehand if this is the right choice for you.
Nitrous Oxide:
- Nitrous Oxide is a safe, effective agent that acts as an anxiolytic to help patients feel calm during dental procedures. Administered through a scented (or unscented) mask, it is inhaled before and during treatment. Afterward, patients will leave fully conscious and alert, meaning adults can drive themselves to and from appointments.
Nitrous Oxide may be a good choice for:
- Children and adults who may be unfamiliar with or fearful of dental treatment.
- Children who may have trouble staying still or calm during dental treatment.
- Patients with a strong gag reflex that may interfere with dental treatment.
