At Restoration Dental Studio, community care goes beyond the dental chair. We believe that every child deserves access to the basic tools that support a healthy smile. Recently, we have had the opportunity to work with two local non-profit organizations – Making a Kid Smile and Raindrops Rising Foundation – to give those supplies to children in need.
Both organizations serve children facing traumatic situations, and both make sure that even small items, like a toothbrush, can provide a sense of normalcy, comfort, and dignity in difficult times.
Making a Kid Smile (MAKS)
Making a Kid Smile, also known as MAKS, supports children entering the foster care system across Northwest Indiana. Founded by Morgan Bradley, who personally experienced being in the system herself, MAKS provides kids with items they can call their own – from clothing and hygiene supplies to comfort items like blankets and toys.
These children are often placed in unfamiliar homes with nothing but the clothes they’re wearing. MAKS steps in with thoughtfully packed duffel bags and backpacks so no child feels like an afterthought. Our donation of dental care kits will be included in these bags to help support the health and confidence of kids during an incredibly vulnerable time.

Raindrops Rising Foundation
Raindrops Rising Foundation serves survivors of sexual violence, domestic abuse, and human trafficking including children and teens in crisis. Based in Porter County, the foundation provides 24/7 advocacy, support in hospitals and courtrooms, and access to resources like emergency housing, hygiene items, and trauma-informed care.
One of their key programs involves assembling “go bags” for survivors that are filled with comfort and personal care items for those who’ve just experienced trauma. Our contribution of children’s dental care kits will be added to these baggies, helping to meet immediate needs while also offering a small reminder that someone cares.
